5th Grade News
May 12, 2017
It’s hard to believe we only have 3 weeks of school left...this year has really flown by! I will be sad to see this class move on...they are a great group! We had such a good time at Itasca State Park last Friday...hopefully they all came home with a good report. The weather was awesome, and the students were very well behaved...that made it a very fun day!
Next THURSDAY, May 18th, we will be performing our Spring Concert at both 10am and 2pm in the school theater. We will watch grades 4 & 6 Wednesday morning and perform for grades K-3 Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Wensloff has been working very hard on getting these classes to sing out and harmonize. It’s going to be great!
We continue to work through our regular curriculum in all subjects. I will still be taking grades through the end of the year, so I encourage students to stay focused and continue to do their best work...a task that becomes more challenging as the weather continues to improve.
I have planned a visit to our public library on Wednesday, May 24th. Students were given a form to fill out to receive a library card of their own. I plan to bring those forms to the library early next week so the students can get their cards on the 24th. Our new librarian, Mrs. Hammer, has planned some great summer reading incentives...your child will be learning all about it, and hopefully he/she will be inspired to continue to read throughout the summer. Have a great weekend, everyone!
