Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Maranda Peterson
Welcome to Mrs. Peterson's class!
I'm happy to share my classroom with you and get to know you and your family throughout the school year. This is my 13th year of teaching. I graduated from Mayville State University in May of 2006 with a Elementary Education and Early Childhood degree. Quickly following my gradution I got married on August 12th and was offered my first teaching job the day after my wedding!! I taught Kindergarten and Fourth Grade in Casselton, ND before moving to Roseau, MN. We moved so that my husband could have better opportunities with his occupation, he is working at Polaris and loves it. We moved to Roseau in May of 2008 and had our first baby, a boy in September of the same year. Taden is such a joy to have in our family and we couldn't have asked for a better baby or young man he is turning into! We also have a little girl named Hadley, she was born in November of 2013 and completed our family of four. My family is very important to me! I subbed around the community for a year after having Taden and shortly after that I was offered a job in Warroad as their Title 1 teacher in 2011. I worked at the Warroad School District for 2 years before moving to the Roseau School District. I taught 1st grade in Roseau in 2014 and than moved to 3rd grade because of a retired teacher leaving and now I can say that I'm back in First Grade and plan to stay as long as I can!
My passion for teaching has been since I started babysitting in my home town of Larimore, ND! I knew in 4th grade that I wanted to be a teacher. I had great role models to look up to, including teachers, relatives and family friends. You will see how passionate I am about teaching by coming into my classroom and experience the great learning environment I love to create for my students. I hope to find each one of your passions through learning and communicating with you this year. Please let me know if you need anything throughout the year.
Lastly, I hope you enjoy your 1st grade year! We are going to make lots of memorable moments that you can look back on and smile! Please feel free to contact me at anytime.
