What is the Roseau PTO?PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. We are a group of parents and teachers that work together for the benefit of the school and the students.
How do we help?
Through fundraising programs, we are able to support the school with: field trips, artist in residence teaching, scholarships, support for the local food shelf, extra-curricular activities, student awards for achievements, patrol camp, and teacher appreciation day, just to name a few! (We raised over $20,000 last year!) Our work goes beyond just raising money, as there are many things we do to help our students, teachers and our community!
How often do we meet?
We meet 1/month for about an hour (or less) on the 3rd Monday of the month at 7pm in the school cafeteria. These meetings are not mandatory, but are great for you to offer your ideas for improvements and to hear what we have planned.
***Added Bonus – yummy treats are almost always given!
What does it cost to join?
Nothing! We do not collect money, or ‘dues’ for our PTO to function. We are solely a volunteer organization.
How can you help?
We don’t expect a huge time commitment from volunteers. An hour can be a big help to our group and the school, and we have positions and tasks to fit all schedules and interests. Just let us know whether a program, event, or activity interests you and when you might be free to help. (You don’t even have to come to the school or attend a meeting to be involved, although we’d really like to meet you personally!)
